Things to do in Pittsburgh in August

Seriously, it’s almost August already?! This summer has flown by, and if you’re like us, you still have a few things to cross off that Summer Bucket List! Here’s a whole list of things to do in Pittsburgh in August; it’s full of fun and amazing family activities to share with you’re loved ones.

Thursday 1st

    • Roving Art Cart: Free art activities for children.; Brookline Community Center, 10am – 1pm

    • Movies in the Park: ParaNorman at Brookline Memorial Park & Community Center
    • “Finally Free” Concert : Five-piece local band performing original compositions and cover songs. Admission is free, 7 pm, Cranberry Community Park

Friday 2nd

    • PPG Festival of Water: Scuba in 22,000-gallon pool, gear provided (ages 10+) August 2nd &4th, 10am – 4pm, Pittsburgh Zoo
    • Roving Art Cart: Free art activities for children.; Schenley Park – Anderson Playground, 10am – 1pm

Saturday 3rd

    • Regatta at Lake Arthur: Kayaks, children’s activities, hot air balloons, fishing tournament, and fireworks; August 3rd & 4th at Moraine State Park {www.lakearthurregatta.org}
    • Triple B Farms, Peach Festival: Hayrides, petting zoo, games, children’s acitivites and pick your own peaches; August 3rd & 4th at Triple B Farm  {www.triplebfarms.com}

Sunday 4th

    • Summer Band Concert: Sundays, 7pm thru August 25th, Ligonier Band Stand {www.laurelhighlands.org}
    • Kids Day at PNC Park: Family Fun Zone on Federal Street from 11am – 1pm, kids are invited to run the bases right down on the field, Game starts at 1:35 pm (SAVE $10 on TICKETS at Giants Eagle)

    • Two for Tuesday at Color Me Mine: two people paint pottery for the price of one from 5pm – 8 pm, Color Me Mine, 5887 Forbes Avenue, Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, PA  15217
    • 1/2 price admission at The Mattress Factory: museum of contemporary art that exhibits room-sized works called installations, $7.50 admission every Tuesday, 10am – 5pm, Mattress Factory, 500 Sampsonia Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
