Curious Little Kid goes to Horse Trading Days
Horse Trading Days
Zelienople is a borough of Butler county located about 30 miles away from Pittsburgh. While I’ve passed the exit a few hundred times on my travels up and down I-79, I’ve never actually been. After stumbling upon “Horse Trading Days” festival, I thought I’d be a great excuse to explore the area.
As a way to promote the area, Horse Trading Days is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary with free concerts, great food, local craft vendors, live entertainment and children’s activities and even a petting zoo. It’s a 3 day festival, with most of the events and attractions going on today, Saturday July 20th. The event attracts over 40,000 guests each year.
We attended last night to see the “Horse Parade” (it’s exactly what it sounds like). We had a meal at a local cafe, played some games, watched the parade and even got to take a pony ride.
